퍼시잭슨의 그리스 신들에 대한 책을 읽기 시작했다. 예전에 퍼시잭슨 시리즈를 재밌게 읽고 나서 번외편 격으로 나온 Greek Gods와 heros를 사두기만 하고 읽지 못했는데, 이렇게 읽게 되네. 이참에 미뤄뒀던 Madline Miller의 Circe도 읽어볼까 싶다. 

 

지금까진 원서를 읽거나 오디오북을 듣고 간단한 일지를 적는 정도였다면, 이젠 좀더 적극적으로 표현들, 특히 phasal verb들이나 idiom 같은 표현들을 찾아보고 기록해보려고 한다. 그래서 말할 때 써보려고 노력하면 더 좋을 것 같고.  

 

내가 그 사람 보증한다고 영어로 말하고 싶으면, vouch for를 사용하면 되는구나. 보증한다 라는 단어를 들으면 자동적으로 guarantee가 떠오른데, 이건 조금 쓰임이 다른듯 하다.
