The Visigoths had once stormed through the ancient world, creating havoc and speading terror.

 

 

oblige v. 의무적으로 ~하게 하다 / 돕다, 도움을 베풀다

So when Tariq got a message inviting him into Spain, he was happy to oblige.

wade v. 통과해(헤치며) 가다(go through), 물, 진흙, 모래 등을 헤치며 걷다

He leaped over the edge of the ship, into the water, and waded ashore. 

 

perish v. 죽다, 소멸하다 

We will either conquer- or perish!
